‘Get Your Sparkle On’ 

Saturday 4 September

RED RIM COMBINED BANDS CONCERT

An opportunity to hear two spectacular Community Bands playing a ‘bright’ program for all music lovers.  Including special guests The TCS Singers a Brisbane based community choir.

Monday 6 September

BLING THAT THING

Choose from a variety of objects like a left shoe, kitchen utensil, wine glass or bring your own item to ‘Bling That Thing’.  Items completed will be displayed during the Festival and voted on by the public for a ‘Shiny’ prize.  All glue and bling supplied or bring your own sparkle with you.

Tuesday 7 September

ASHE LAWRANCE MEMORIAL YOUNG BLING

Take a whole lot of ‘sequins’ and ‘glitter’ and bling up a calico apron to model or display in the Festival’s Fashion Awards for lots of prizes.  Everything supplied including apron, glue and serious bling.

Tuesday 7 September

SKETCHING WORKSHOP

Join multi award winning artist Glen Smith for a relaxed evening of learning the art of sketching.

Everything supplied.

Wednesday 8 September

THE GREAT COMEDY DEBATE

A ‘sparkling’ debate with some of Fassifern’s funniest characters ‘shining’ a light on a not so serious topic.  Also featuring the extremely talented High School Debate Team.

Thursday 9 September

SIP AND PAINT

Try your hand at painting and ‘glisten’ at this fun social event. Includes a pre-drawn canvas, paints, artist instructions and a glass of wine, beer or soft drink. Bookings essential.

Friday 10 September

THE YOUTH SHOWCASE

A highly entertaining event of ‘shimmer’ and ‘twinkle’ featuring local children aged from 4 years performing and dancing in this special event.

Saturday 11 September

FASHION SHOW & FESTIVAL AWARDS

‘Dazzling’ handmade outfits, ‘shimmering’ gowns and wonderful creations ‘glisten’ this night of fashion and wearable art.  This night include entertainment and the presentation of the winners of the Art and Writing Awards. Surprises and entertainment too.

All Week

Artworks, sculptures and photography all beautifully exhibited at the Boonah Cultural Centre.

Purchase a raffle ticket to make your selection in the coveted People’s Choice Award.

Sunday 5 – Saturday 11 September
Art Viewing is open from 9am – 1pm daily. Free Entry.

All events are held at the Boonah and District Cultural Centre, 3 High Street Boonah.

GET INVOLVED

The Ritchies Boonah Arts Festival is about promoting the cultural heart of the community. It gives everyone an opportunity to display their talent in the art, writing, and fashion competitions, or on stage in lively and entertaining shows.

 

Get involved: onstage, backstage, social media, logistics, clerical, or general help. Make friends and contribute to the economic and social wellbeing of the community. It’s lots of fun.
